Caitlyn Jenner and Jesus: Supporting v.s. Condoning

Jesus was the master at accepting the person, but not condoning their sins. That was one of His specialities! Somehow the Savior and Creator of the world was able to see past the person’s wrongdoing and still interact with them in love.

Yet, somehow we have lost that aspect.

We think that if we support a person or interact with them then we are condoning their sin and OH NO! That is a no no!

But if we are truly meant to live Christ-like lives then aren’t we supposed to model after Him in ALL that we do, not just the things that make us comfortable?

TOO Fast and TOO Furious

You are behind the wheel driving you car faster than you could ever physically go on your own. The wind is rushing past you. You feel the short breath of freedom in that moment, but what if everything came to a screeching halt?

If you do not slow down, life will.

Living fast and furious seems appealing at first. You feel the adrenaline and the false sense of importance, but when the world stops spinning and you are alone, what happens? Will you be caught and thrown around like an old doll or will you find peace and serenity?

The fast life will kill you.

So, what if you did something different?

I for one live extremely fast. When someone asks me if I want to get lunch, generally it happens a week to two weeks after they first ask because my schedule is booked solid. It isn’t because I am anybody, rather it is because I have filled my life with a nonstop spinning that never slows down.

Until it slowed me down.

Death. It’s Not What You May Think – God

/deTH/-noun– the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of life

I died.

But I was still breathing.

When I was sixteen years old the darkness became too much and I shared the dark cycle of abuse I had fallen victim to for three years.   Though my world started to turn around and the truth became a reality, I still felt dark inside. My innermost thoughts were completely dead.

Unforgiveness will kill you even if you are still breathing.

It is not just a matter of forgiving yourself or what another person has done to you.

No.

There is more.

I remember screaming at God asking, “How could you let this happen to me!? You said you loved me!”

I could not process the idea that the all powerful God of the universe would let someone abuse and manipulate me.

Not just one time.

But for three years.

It was a painful thought process for me. I could not grasp it no matter what I tried.

Death. It’s Not What You May Think – Someone Else

/deTH/-noun– the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of life

I remember thinking to myself, “Where am I?”

Because I didn’t even recognize my own life.

When I was sixteen years old the darkness became too much and I shared the dark cycle I had fallen victim to for three years.   Though my world started to turn around and the truth became a reality, I still felt dark inside. My innermost thoughts were completely dead.

Death. It’s Not What You May Think – Yourself

/deTH/-noun– the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of life

What if I told you that this painful, heart-wrenching experience of death was not the only kind of death? What if I told you that people are walking around everyday searching for some form of life because they are dead? They aren’t physically dead.   These people are not zombies, but they are the walking dead.

These people are just like you and me.

They walk.

They eat.

They sleep.

They even look like you, but they are not like you.

They are dead.

Death. It is not what you may think.

Death. It’s Not What You May Think — Unforgiveness

/deTH/-noun– the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of life

Death. It is not what you may think.

Death surrounds us everyday. We feel the cold, unforgiving grasp of death on our hearts when we stare into the blank face of our loved ones. Our hearts scream when another’s heart stops beating. When another person’s life ends.

Death.

What if I told you that this painful, heart-wrenching experience of death was not the only kind of death? Little Podunk Towns

“I want to take you on a journey, a journey with many winding roads and stops along the way. I don’t want to make a bullet for an end goal, rather I want to show you everything I have made and created. I want to show my creation to my prized creation, you.”

–God

God is a God of process. You see this all throughout the Bible (He did make the world in a seven day process for goodness sake) that God finds value in the process, but somehow we feel the urge and the need to skip the process and go to the destination.

Am I Worthy?

Maybe I am just off my rocker (completely plausible) or that I misunderstood something along the lines of my Sunday School career, but I find myself feeling guilty for feeling pain. I don’t mean physical pain, but rather emotional pain.

I know pain very intimately.

And pain knows me.

My story is full of triumphs and victories, but also breathtaking pain and hurt that sucked every ounce of joy from me. Only people who have experienced a traumatizing amount of emotional pain will understand when I say it was hard to breathe in those moments. Sadly, for me those moments were more frequent than not. For a number of years I was abused and it rocked me to my core. I found myself just lying on the floor weeping because of the intense pain I was feeling.

The Reason for the Season

Good Morning!

No, I didn’t forget to post last week, I chose to take a much needed vacation lol But now I am back starting off this week with the Reason for the Season. Yes, we have ALLLLLL heard that plenty of times, but even then we sometimes forget the true reason for the season. We try to take the importance off of Santa and Elves and put it on Jesus and the Nativity, but we should remember the words that Jesus himself stated. We are to not remember his birth, but rather His death. So as we are enjoying friends, traditions, and family this Christmas season, remember the reason for His birth–so that He could die to save humanity, for without that there would be no reason for the season.
